State Tourney

Postby BearcatByDay » Sun Feb 12, 2017 2:55 pm

Centralia Takes 2nd place as a team in districts, has 7 kids going to state

Seniors:
Sam Hasekamp 1st at 220
Jackson Evans 1st at 170
Carter Kinkead 2nd at 145
Andrew Newbrough 2nd at 113
Trey Taft 4th at HWT

Freshman:
Grafton Littrell 2nd at 132
Trevor Bodine 4th at 182

Great weekend and really excited to watch the state tournament. I figure Evans and Hasekamp will make it to the finals, along with a strong chance for Newbrough and Littrell. Kinkead unfortunately has Mauller of Tolton on his side of the bracket, but a medalist none the less. Taft and Bodine can both place but need to win some matches that they are wouldn't be picked to win. Overall I would like to see all 7 place but 5 is really realistic and all of them can score bonus points on the way to placing highly as a team. Whitfield, Seneca and Richmond loom large as far as competition for team trophies but this can be a really special tournament.

Sam Hasekamp can get to 175 career wins with a championship this coming weekend, as well as adding the gold to go with the silver and bronze he already holds.

Carter always seems to be in the toughest brackets. usually always has a behemoth in his bracket. Very much looking forward to seeing Sam fulfill his dreams this weekend and all the seniors going out with a bang
